Both are trucks, but each fulfills a different set of functions. An F-150 is a "truck", a Mack or Kenworth is a "truck". From a DTG viewpoint, the more intense ability of RIP to modify color output might be in order, like printing lithographs to canvas, I'm guessing, would be similar.Īll that to say there's RIP and there's RIP. Maybe some half-toning (although, I've read somewhere that you can fake that with PhotoShop). The RIP software, however, can do a wide variety of things for printing, similarly to the Voodoo cards in their specificity, changing printer output color hues and densities and blah blah blah.įrom a screenprinting viewpoint, all we need is to dump more ink on a transparency to achieve more UV-blocking dye (or pigment, depending on what you're using). The card took the regular video output and did some magic to it and made 3D games look great, but they did nothing for making Office apps look any better. To date myself, like the old 3dfx Voodoo 2 cards I had (yes a long, long time ago, in a life far, far away) did a great job at making 3D gaming look, well, great.
